Key Ingredients

OATS

While downsizing the formula, oats were the one thing we couldn’t let go of because oats spark joy in our skin! Oats (aka avena sativa) are one of the most well-researched, natural ingredients in skincare. It has tremendous skin-calming properties that invite your skin into a state of ZEN.

Our skin goes through a lot in a day—pollutants, toxins, UV rays, and a lot of internal and external stressors. So we thought everyone and anyone’s skin can enjoy the benefits of using oats.

Water, Butylene Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Squalane, 1,2-Hexanediol, Behenyl Alcohol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Avena Sativa (Oat) Meal Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin

The Origin Story

A universally inclusive moisturizer.

Moisturizers are probably the single most un-universal product category out there—everyone has a different preference in texture, finish, and ingredients. Even among people with similar skin concerns, some like their moisturizer more emollient while others prefer it more gel-like; some like the formula to linger while others want something fast-absorbing.

When we were creating Oat So Simple Water Cream, we asked for your “ideal dream moisturizer,” and received 2,364 very specific, very different entries. Even though there were some commonalities in what you dreamed up, there was no singular answer. And, of course, because you are all so unique and so are your skin cravings.

Our response to these 2,364 diverse individual wishes? Simplify to amplify. We simplified the ingredients and formula to amplify the benefits. When the world is trying to sell products by adding features on top of features, we went in the opposite direction. The core purpose of Oat So Simple Water Cream is to simply moisturize. Nothing more, nothing less. We let go of unnecessary, trendy, fancy active ingredients, any potential allergens, irritants, sensitizers, and any other ingredients that can be problematic for sensitive and even fungal acne friends. After three years of developing—more like, downsizing—the formula, it came down to less than 10 ingredients.

We wanted to provide you with the simplest yet still moisturizing moisturizer, so that YOU have the freedom and power to use it as is or to build upon it, if necessary. Oat So Simple Water Cream is a basic moisturizer that you can layer once, multiple times, or mix with your favorite facial oils, serums, and boosters as you wish.

Oat So Simple Water Cream is like that friend that’s not the loudest but is always there and reliable; that lifts you up, and respects your choices and decisions. When you’re with Oat So Simple Water Cream, you can feel like yourself, at ease, liberated. Oat So Simple Water Cream is flexible, gentle, smooth, and fluid enough that it blends in with any group seamlessly.

Recycling Guide

No more Oat So Simple Water Cream? It’s recycling time, fam! We know how confusing recycling can be, so here’s a basic guide:

Step 1: #SkincareCommitment: Use it up and rinse it out. If the moisturizer doesn’t work for you, give it to a friend or family member. That way there’s no waste and it can go to a better home!

Step 2: Get the deets. Although generally, Oat So Simple Water Cream is 100% recyclable, in the US, what can and can’t be recycled varies based on the city you live in. Do a quick google search to read up on your city’s recycling guide.

Step 3: Chuck it in the (recycling) bin. If you checked your location and you’re good to go, it’s time for it to be recycled! If not, look into organizations, like TerraCycle, to help you properly recycle your beauty products. It’s free (!) and all you have to do is gather your empty products together, print a recycling label, and ship it out. That’s it! They’ll take care of the rest for you.

FYI, here are all the materials used to create Oat So Simple Water Cream.

Each number is a resin identification code, which recycling plants use to know what kind of plastic it is and how it should be processed. PETE stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate and PP stands for Polypropylene—these are both plastics. PAP represents paper/mixed paper/cardboard.
